Job Title: Director of Special Programs
Reports to: Superintendent
Evaluated by: Superintendent
- Position Overview: The Director of Special Programs provides leadership in planning, developing, coordinating and evaluating special programs curriculum and instruction for grades PK-12 and beyond. In addition, the Director provides ongoing professional development and improvement of special programs in the district; assist the Superintendent in working with the Board, the administrative team, staff, parents, community groups, and professional organizations; and implements and maintains excellent special programs.
- Essential Job Functions:
- Directs special education program services and professional development
- Direct/Supports curriculum including new teacher evaluation system
- Serves as an active member of the management team
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets student and district data
- Uphold board policies
- Implements administrative guidelines and procedures
- Promotes the districts’ mission philosophy and vision
- Builds internal external partnerships that support district goals and enhance student learning
- Directs program development
- Effective organizational planning and project management skills
- Ability to identify, evaluate and implement program options, auxiliary services, and curricular materials that support the diverse learning needs of students
- Other duties as assigned

- Knowledge of public school and special education policies and practices
- Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree or above
- Minimum of three (3) years administrative experience over special programs-with emphasis on special education
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience as an elementary or secondary staff member
- Experience in providing staff development
- Valid Oregon Administrator Credentials
- Duties and Responsibility:
- Completes necessary State and Federal reports
- Attend Board meetings as requested by the Superintendent
- Prepare needed reports for the Board
- Maintains respect at all time for confidentiality
- Interacts in a positive manner with staff, students, parents and public
- Physical Requirements:
In an eight-hour day, employee may
- Stand/Walk 7-8 Hours
- Drive 1-2 Hours
- Sit 7-8 Hours
- Stoop/Squat/Bend 1-2 Hours
- Lift/Carry 1-2 Hours Up to a weight of Over 50 lbs
- Climb Stairs Occasionally

Salary : $110,000 - $125,000
