Port Engineer
Job Summary:
This job role is responsible for managing the day-to-day maintenance and repair of vessels while controlling cost and budget.
Duties:
- Train and supervise mechanics
- Determine what equipment and machinery are needed for new construction or replacements
- Maintain a record of all maintenance performed and how long it took to complete
- Oversee the budget and purchasing of services and parts needed to complete the repair
- Oversee all repairs and preventive maintenance
- Enforce safety features and procedures
Qualifications:
-Degree in Marine Engineering or related technical degree
- Must have at least 5 years of experience on oil barges, tankers, or tugs
- Must have at least 5 years in the maritime industry. 10 plus years is preferred
- Full knowledge of electrical systems and marine mechanical systems
- Coast Guard license preferred
- Driver’s license
- TWIC card
