Director of Finance
Since 1996, our client has
provided personalized and compassionate medical care for our frail and
medically complex patients in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
Their 22 years of managing care for high-risk populations have helped us design
an integrated care model that effectively coordinates care as our patients
transition from inpatient to post-acute settings, including going home. Their
unique value-based care model improves clinical outcomes and patient/family
satisfaction while reducing system costs. They are experts in symptom
management, supportive care, advanced care planning, telemedicine, medical
crisis prevention, and patient-family communication.
Requirements
· Lead the execution of building and maintaining robust, three-statement financial models to support the CFO in annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term financial planning to drive overall strategic decision-making of the firm
· Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff responsible for providing financial planning and analysis services
· Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for providing budget services; implement policies and procedures
· Work across departments and cross-functional teams to administer, manage, and explain the budget process, as needed
· Evaluate potential growth and investment opportunities; assess the risks and merits of potential new business opportunities and articulate across a cross-functional team
· Manage execution of corporate financings (debt and equity) and M&A transactions as a primary day-to-day point of contact with third parties
· Collaborate with Network Development and Contracting staff to analyze contract rate trends and anomalies, and evaluate areas of opportunity
· Collaborate with the CFO and executive team to develop clear, concise, and engaging investor presentations and board materials
· Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders (publish monthly financial statements, detailed reporting of service line financial results and KPI performance, and draft the accompanying Management Discussion & Analysis)
· Coordinate with the CFO and accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
· Collaborate with other departments to drive financial and operational excellence across the organization
· Perform related duties similar to the above in scope and function as required
Education
and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, preferred
· MBA (or MBA candidate), preferred
· Minimum five to seven years of Finance / budgeting experience,
required
o At least two years of managing finance /
budget team
· Minimum three to five years of prior health plan / managed care experience,
required
Essential
Skills and Abilities:
· Health plan experience required including
specific knowledge of claims categories that support financial aspects of
health plan financial reporting
· Understanding of payment methodologies for
Hospitals (DRG, Per Diem, % of Billed, etc.), Nursing Facilities (PDPM, Part B
Therapy), and Physicians (RBRVS, FFS, Capitation, etc.), as well as for other
ancillary providers
· Understanding of provider contracts for
medical groups and independent physicians, including capitation contracts,
development of capitated rates, and contract carve outs
· Financial modeling expertise and advanced
mastery of both Excel and PowerPoint, as required to lead, manage, and train
supporting FP&A staff
· Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving
