Cornerstone Family Healthcare is actively recruiting for a Grants Accountant to join our growing team in Cornwall, NY and Hawthorne, NY.
RATE OF PAY/SALARY: $55,000. - $65,000. annually
WORK LOCATION(S): Cornwall, NY, Hawthorne, NY
STATUS: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY:
- Under the supervision of the VP Finance & Controller, the purpose of the Grants Accountant is to assist in the day to day accounting functions and the monthly close process. The position will also assist in the preparation and analysis of financial information.
- Maintains general ledger through reconciliation on a monthly basis
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and documents business transactions
- Ability to work with existing grants with budget modifications
- Provides necessary grants documentation as necessary
- Makes appropriate journal entries as needed, including projections
- Maintains bank accounts, including bank reconciliation and payroll transfers
- Provides assistance to VP Finance & Controller in preparing monthly reports
- Verifies daily deposits and records cash receipts
- Prepares and/or reviews monthly voucher submissions for various grants and contracts
- Analyzes general ledger accounts and resolves accounting discrepancies
- Attend and participate in monthly department, All Staff and other required meetings
- Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical, administrative, and general policies and procedures as outlined in the Cornerstone Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook
- Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of Cornerstone including, but not limited to, patient confidentiality, financials, and employee relations
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum BA in Accounting is required
- Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills
- Solid Accounting/Working GL knowledge
- 3-5 years as a Staff Accountant, or similar position
- Grant experience a plus
