What are the responsibilities and job description for the Labor Coordinator position at Cornerstone Technologies?
Responsible for oversight in technical event staffing at various events, including, but not limited to concerts, corporate and trade shows, sporting events etc. The work involves sourcing staff, handling all administrative details and overseeing venues as needed. In addition the incumbent may have responsibility for payroll and accounts payable and receivable duties. This position will provide excellent customer service both internally and externally.
Essential Functions
- Depending on the venue, client and /or event, creates and submits detailed labor estimates based on the clients requirements for number of persons by position and estimated number of hours and days required.
- Staffing - Utilizes, if available, Account executives-preferred crew lists first. Filling in the balance of the crew with the most qualified employees available; when a job is awarded submit requests to Unions for requesting personnel.
- Resolves crew issues, verifying requirements for each day, confirming availability of crew and increase or decrease staff size as necessary.
- Interprets work rules, conditions and add profit factor to establish client rate then apply those rates to estimate.
- Advises the sales person/project manager/client of contractual compliance requirements and the financial impact and compiles, calculates and processes hours per show, including appropriate splits for billing purposes.
- Provides the AE’s and TD’s with daily running totals of labor cost.
- Contacts union local, if required, to obtain a one-off agreement.
- Processes accident reports as needed on Worker’s Comp Claims.
- May use computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word
- processing, calendar, e-mail and database software and proprietary to Cornerstone software in performing work assignments.
- May perform other incidental tasks, as needed.
- Working evenings and weekends as needed
- May be required to travel.
Qualifications
- Two years of experience supporting Labor Staffing in an entertainment environment or employment agency preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook,
- LASSO experienced preferred but not required
- Advanced scheduling experience
Education
- Graduation from High School or possession of an equivalency diploma
- One of the above years of specialized experience may be substituted with one year of successful full-time college education
Other Requirements
- Knowledge: Good knowledge of the principles and practices of show staffing; working knowledge of accounting and payroll practices and procedures
- Skills: Excellent communication skills; skill in negotiating rates
- Abilities: Ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced changing environment; ability to oversee the work of others; ability to understand and utilize complex payroll information
- Must be able to work OT and weekends as needed
