What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cathodic Protection Technician position at Corrosion DC, Inc.?

Job Duties:

  1. A typical work week will consist of checking cathodic systems or installing new systems from Monday to Thursday (see numbers 2, 3, and 4 below for more information). Friday is usually a shop day preparing for next week's work (number 7 below) or local work near home base.

  2. The CPT must be willing to travel almost every workday (and stay overnight in hotels anywhere from approximately 80 to 100 nights per year, depending on workload) to perform the above duties throughout a seven-state region. This region currently includes Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming. This particular Great Bend based job focuses on Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

  3. The CPT must be able to lift and carry at least 60 pounds.

  4. Installing cathodic protection (CP) systems, which are made up of:

  5. Anode ground beds (including water systems).

  6. Rectifier or Solar Systems

  7. Inspect and maintain existing CP systems, including troubleshooting and repairing the CP system.

  8. Operate a tractor-trailer unit (semi-truck). A Commercial Class A driver's license is required (if the candidate does not already have one, the company will work with the candidate to obtain one).

  9. Operate the following heavy equipment:

  10. Ditcher/backhoe.

  11. Wheel Loader with bucket forks (to load or unload materials) or Forklift.

  12. Shop time and duties including, but not limited to:

  13. Repairing rectifier system and solar system internals.

  14. Replacing bearings in alternators and building alternator brackets.
  15. Making PVC water systems.
  16. Building amperage control units.
  17. Servicing equipment.
  18. Unloading freight.
  19. Maintaining, cleaning, and organizing the shop, including the yard around the shop.

  20. The CPT needs to have or be willing to learn welding skills.

  21. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, co-workers, and management is a must-have.

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
