Machine Operator / Band Saw Operator / Warehouse Worker Position
As our Auburn, MA location prepares for facility expansion and record growth, we are looking for a dependable, self-motivated candidate with experience in machining and processing of metal products to become an integral part of our dynamic team.
Day-to-day Tasks and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- Machining of metal products in accordance with company operating procedures, safety rules, and quality standards (tolerances, finish, etc.)
- Plan and set-up sequences on processing equipment for all required necessary actions for job completion.
- Set up and secure material on equipment, position workpiece.
- Start machine and observe operation regularly to ensure consistency with specifications.
- Make necessary adjustments to reposition workpiece, change cutting tools, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Provide training/assistance to other employees under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Move materials throughout warehouse using forklift, overhead crane, and/or cart.
- Accurately transcribe data onto materials in accordance with job traveler.
- Assist Quality and Safety Manager and customer inspectors during inspection of orders.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Adhere to all CMI safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Adhere to all CMI handbook policies, procedures, and business codes of ethics.
Secondary Duties
- Perform tasks such as saw cutting and de-burring customer orders.
- Package materials ready for shipment by using or making the appropriate crate, skid, or cylinder.
- Receive inbound materials and check the accuracy of goods received against the Purchase Order (PO) by using calipers, micrometer, and/or a tape measure.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound freight trucks.
Required Qualifications for this Position
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Good organizational, problem-solving skills and time management skills
- Ability to effectively multi-task and work independently on assigned tasks
- Ability to measure using different tools
- Ability to read and calculate numbers and data
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers
- Strong work ethic; self-motivated
Preferred Qualifications
- Three
or more years of machining, bandsaw and warehouse experience
