Accounts Receivable Coordinator

COSCO SHIPPING (North America) has expanded its business to a diversified scope including container shipping, terminal operations, bulk shipping, tanker shipping, logistics services, shipping agency, cargo agency, bunker supply, vessel supply, technical support and chassis leasing services.

We are seeking a highly motivated* Accounts Receivable Coordinator* to join our Accounting Department in the Humble, TX operations office.

Specific responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Send statements and invoices to customer as per portfolio of customers
• Daily collections calls to customer and monitor accounts portfolio
• Create Top 20 report on weekly basis for management review with comments on invoice level
• Monitoring receivables and immediate reporting for high risk accounts
• Work with POL and POD along with GTSD on rates and disputes from customers.
• Review and research unallocated credits on weekly basis
• Freight cashier functions including freight releases, cash applications, deposits.
• Billing, creation of third party invoices upon receipt of payment and notification to import department for terminal release if necessary.
• Responsible for incoming bank payments including releasing cargo as required.
• Wire transfer/ACH applications and SAP report.
• Refund preparations
• Collections credit and non-credit accounts including special requirements
• Assist with inbound cargo releases (OBL's/Checks)
• Handles Outbound Cashier functions including releasing documents via overnight mail or messenger service.
• Monitors incoming payments noncredit accounts and informs Documentation service to issue Telex Release.
• Collections noncredit accounts
• Additional accounts receivable functions including collections and special projects assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in related field

Additional Qualifications:

• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience in ocean transportation is a plus
• SAP experience
• Experience working in a high volume environment (preferred)
