What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobility Coach position at COTS?
Mobility Coaching is an innovative approach to partnering with low-income families on their journey to acquiring skills and resources that lead to economic mobility and family stability. The Passport to Self-Sufficiency™ Mobility Coach provides support to participants across five key domains: Housing and Family Stability, Finances, Health and Well-Being, Education and Training, and Career and Employment.
The Mobility Coach combines participant driven goals, community resources and partnerships, group support, incentives, mentoring, and youth services to support families engaged in PTS.
Position Responsibilities:
· Use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach for parents and head of households.
· Conduct individual coaching sessions.
· Facilitate group engagements.
· Complete PTS data forms and assessment tools with participants.
· Goal setting in PTS 5 Domains.
· Data entry utilizing Apricot software and other assigned systems.
· Maintain participant files and data.
· Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook in daily tasks.
· Maintain regular contact with participants in accordance with PTS parameters.
· Refer families to COTS partners, community services, and organizations.
· Assist participants through problem solving, conflict resolution, relationship building, and mediation as needed.
· Engage in ongoing development, training, and learning.
· Duties unique to each work location – Peggy’s Place, Peterboro Arms, & COTS in Community.
Basic Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in human services related field preferred not required
· At least 1-2 years professional experience in human services, case management, counseling, etc.
· Basic knowledge of engagement strategies (i.e. trauma informed care, generational poverty, and whole family engagement)
· Data entry experience required
· Microsoft Word and Excel experience required
· Group facilitation skills preferred
· Reliable transportation
· Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
· Ability to work a schedule that includes one late shift weekly and one Saturday per month
