This position requires comfort with the full spectrum of acuity in mental health.
The Clinical Counselor is responsible for facilitating group therapy, program referrals, assessments, and admissions. Coordinates with outpatient providers and patient supports networks for safe complete discharge planning. Additional responsibilities include:
- Clinical case management to include serving as liaison to community agencies and therapists; Communicating to medical staff and treatment team involved in patient's care; and coordinating treatment planning sessions.
- In conjunction with the appropriate team members, schedules activities and leads a variety of therapeutic activity groups. Provides individual psychotherapeutic interventions necessary to promote optimal health. Makes required documentation in patient records.
- Participates in treatment planning and review conferences. Provides input to the treatment planning process. Identifies planning problems that need early intervention. Incorporates specific discharge plans into plan of care and revises plan of care as treatment progresses.
QUALIFICATIONS
LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Minimum: Master's degree in psychology, counseling, and/or social work.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum: BLS required by 90th day of employment; Valid California Driver License, plus must be licensed/registered/certified with one of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or registered Marriage and Family Intern or registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW); a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or registered Master of Social Work Intern; a licensed Psychologist or registered Psychology Assistant; Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor, or a registered intern, with an accredited Certifying Organization approved by the State of California Healthcare Services.
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred: 3 years recent experience with substance use disorder treatment and/or co-occurring disorders.
Salary : $81,800 - $104,000
