Position Summary: Responsible for monitoring and ensuring implementation of child development and education services of the Head Start Program Performance Standards in a CORAIC Early Head Start classroom environment.
Essential Functions:
1. Create and maintain a weekly staffing schedule to ensure compliance to ratio performance standards.
2. Ability to work a variety of shifts as needed to ensure classroom coverage and meet performance standard ratio guideline.
3. Work with each teacher to ensure completion of the ASQ3 and subsequent rescreens.
4. Work with each teacher to complete evidence-based assessments as prescribed.
5. Will work with teachers and incoming parents to schedule initial meetings- will provide and review initial paperwork with parents
6. Will work with appropriate personnel during the child’s transition process to provide a smooth transition to Head Start or a local Preschool
7. Work with each family, teacher, family support specialists and Assistant Director of Infant/Toddler Services to ensure appropriate Early Intervention (EI) referrals to early intervention providers is occurring as needed.
8. Maintain confidentiality as outlined by the agency.
9. Drive between the office and scheduled meetings as needed by the agency.
10. Collaborate with EHS Family Support specialists, Health, ERSEA for the mutual benefit of the families, staff and programs.
11. Complete COTRAIC monitoring tool for classrooms daily for the classroom.
12. Monitor clearance, credential, and professional development information for each teacher in accordance with the Compliance/Professional Development Coordinator.
13. Will evaluate teachers twice a year while completing 2 teacher observations prior to each evaluation (or otherwise as directed)
14. Monitor each child’s attendance, absences, absence reasons. Communicate with families and Family Support Specialist regarding 85 percent attendance as required by standards. Reach out to families of children who experience excessive absences.
15. Work with teachers and EHS admin to maintain appropriate supply of diapers and wipes in the classroom. Create a diaper order quarterly.
16. Maintain an inventory of classroom furnishings and supplies.
17. Complete the ITERS in the classroom on the prescribed schedule.
18. Monitor for active supervision of the children in the classroom.
19. Monitor for teacher following a daily routine, lesson plans and appropriate teacher engagement with children.
20. Attend Early Head Start meetings on a regular basis.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Attend meetings, trainings or conferences as required.
2. Perform other job responsibilities as required.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of experience with children 0-3 years.
2. Supervisory experience preferred.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Other Requirements:
1. Initial PA child abuse clearance, PA Criminal record check, FBI Fingerprinting and Non-Sex Offender Registry Verification. Clearances renewed according to state law.
2. Initial Physical and TB test.
3. Bi-Annual CPR and First Aid Certificate.
4. Current PA driver’s license, vehicle and proof of insurance.
I9 proof of employment eligibility.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.96 - $35.64 per hour
