About the Job:
We're excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Operational Risk Analyst. Under the direction of the Vice President of Risk Management, the Operational Risk Analyst will support the implementation and monitoring of our risk management framework bank-wide, including analyzing bank operations and performing bank risk assessments. The individual in this role will also coordinate a variety of reporting and record management functions in the Corporate Risk area, including corporate policy reviews, bank insurance policy reviews and accident reporting.
The hiring range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development and support of the risk assessment process to ensure risks are managed in concert with the bank’s risk appetite and to assess compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, industry standards, and bank operating procedures. Identifies potential business risks, operational and regulatory process deficiencies, as well as opportunities to mitigate these risks.
- Provides support and performs risk analysis of proposed new products and services to ensure new initiatives begin in a manner that minimizes risk to the Bank
- Coordinates annual policy reviews with policy owner(s).
- Analyzes the impact of changes to federal and state regulations and makes recommendations for changes to policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assesses Bank-wide insurance coverage, reviews and maintains insurance policies. Coordinates renewals with management and insurance agent.
- Maintains accident reports and coordinates with insurance company and adjusters when claims are filed. Works closely with Facilities to ensure property issues or damage is repaired to reduce the risk of any future claims.
- Coordinates the semi-annual review of the FDICIA control matrix with all business areas to ensure all financial controls remain accurate and are documented appropriately.

Knowledge and Skills:

- Ability to interpret ideas and facts, while also analyzing and interpreting federal and state laws and/or regulations.
- Intermediate PC/systems skills including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, specifically the ability to work within long documents, headers, footers, table of contents, and formatting.
Education and Work Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, is required.
- Minimum of two years of risk management, audit, or related experience is required.
- Experience in risk management in the banking industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of banking operational and technology processes required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
This position is in an office environment, which means the physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards, with a moderate level of noise. Prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen with freedom of movement on a regular basis is expected. Minimal physical effort is required but could include: repetitive motion of wrists and fingers; talking and hearing; and handling of light materials and supplies.
