Company information: Country Charm Early Learning Center, is located in Drums, Pennsylvania. We currently enroll children 12 months old through school age. Our goal is to foster a love for learning by promoting high self-esteem and encouraging natural curiosity. Developmentally appropriate and success-oriented programs are specially designed for the growth and development of a child’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs. CCLEC complies with the Department of Human Services (DHS), Keystone STARS, Pre-K Counts, the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL), Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Description of role: The person selected for this position should be professionally prepared in the field of early childhood education and must be able to meet the requirements of DPW, PDE, Keystone STARS, and NAEYC. This person must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults. This person must have the personality and ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity.
Tasks:
- Planning the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing the needed materials and supplies in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the school, based on the Creative Curriculum and research based practices, as well as, delivering a developmentally and individually appropriate educational program based on individual interests, culture, abilities, multiple intelligence, and pace of learning
- Sitting and positively interacting with children during family style meals
- Actively engaging with children while on the playground
- Maintaining attendance records, daily written communication with families regarding meals, activities, and diapering; anecdotal and portfolio based recording of individual growth and development, assessing the developmental levels of the children, and other record keeping as required
- Conducting parent conferences focused on children’s academic progress and behavioral needs
- Treating children with dignity and respect
- Providing an aesthetically pleasing and clean learning environment/ assisting in the maintenance of the school
- Working with other staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere
Skills and requirements:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Experience required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
