Village Clerk Job Description & Qualifications
Overview
Under the direction of the Chairman and Board of Trustees, the Village Clerk organizes, coordinates, and directs the all day to day activities of the Village office.
Salary & Benefits:
- This is an hourly position that averages 32 hours per week, Monday-Thursday.
- $18 - $20 per hour depending on experience.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Act as custodian of records for all Village related documents.
- Prepare legal notices and postings including meeting notices to comply with Missouri Sunshine Law.
- Prepare agendas for and attend all regular and special sessions for Board of Trustees, Planning and Zoning, and Fire Board meetings. Record minutes and distribute as needed.
- Represent the Village on various community boards as appropriate.
- Follow up on recommendations and requests from the Trustees. This may include preparing correspondence, liasing with City Attorney, Engineers, Bond Counsel, Surveyors and citizens.
- Provide excellent customer service to the citizens of the Village. Take all requests, complaints and general information calls, follow up with the Trustees as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of ordinances and resolution, with input from Village Attorney.
- Prepare and/or work with committee chairs or professional engineers to prepare bid documents including bid specs, advertise the bid notices and attend bid openings.
- Work with Village Accountant to ensure that monthly, semi-annual and annual financial reporting is complete and accurate.
- Act as City Collector, collect payments for taxes, fees and services. Work with contracted third party to ensure sewer bill collections remain current.
- Attend all required annual training.
- Manage the day to day flow of the Village Office including all general office and administrative duties.
- Ensure that all vendor agreements are current and notify the Trustees when any agreement requires renewal.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with all codes by sending letters and following up with citizens as necessary.
Experience and Qualifications
- 5-7 years of Office Administration experience preferred. Experience in a municipal environment highly preferred.
- Must currently live in or be willing to relocate within 20 miles of The Village of Country Club.
- Current Driver License
- No felony convictions, no domestic abuse convictions, or charges pending.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
