What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant position at COUNTRY HILLS ANIMAL CLINIC?
Kennel Attendant needed for busy two doctor practice. We are a small animal, full service veterinary hospital, offering routine preventative care, in hospital diagnostic lab, anesthetic dental cleaning, and a wide variety of surgical procedures. Our office hours are Mon-Fri 8am to 6pm and Sat 8am to 1pm
Duties include but are not limited to;
- Maintaining cleanliness of the kennels and hospital.
- Feeding and walking patients.
- Restraining patients for treatments and procedures.
- Stocking Supplies.
- Keeping up with laundry.
- Communicating with the doctors and techs
- May need to work on weekends.
Requirements for this position include;
- The ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Comfortable with all breeds of dog and all attitudes of cat.
- An understanding this job requires a lot of cleaning, including the surgery room, bathrooms, kennels, floors etc.
- Comfortable with animal restraint that may require you to hold a standing position, leaning, or crouching to the floor for extended periods of time.
- An understanding of basic animal behavior, such as recognizing fear, pain, aggression etc.
