Program Analyst - County of Bergen
Department of Health Services – Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services
Under direction, gathers information to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of current or projected operating programs; prepares reports; recommends program changes; leads training and community outreach efforts; does other related work.
Knowledge and Job Responsibilities: (may include but not limited to)
· Knowledge of the methods used to gather and analyze data.
· Knowledge of the methods used to conduct research, analyses, and evaluations.
· Ability to conduct studies and evaluate results.
· Ability to prepare reports.
· Ability to establish records and files.
· Ability to develop and coordinate a centralized training team vs corp Mental Health First Aid instructors and develop a library of trainings available through the County of Bergen, by community entities and/or collaborative efforts.
· Ability to serve as a trainer for Mental Health First Aid courses, Suicide Prevention courses and others.
· Ability to respond to requests for trainings and directly provide or coordinate through the training team vs corp or other community provider with appropriate expertise.
· Ability to handle training logistics, including sign-ups, reminders.
· Ability to attend community events to raise awareness.
· Ability to provide outreach to specific communities (e.g.: older adults, faith based, emergency responders, specific cultural groups, etc.) to promote mental health awareness through training opportunities.
· Ability to coordinate staff training curriculum.
· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
· Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
Education Requirements:
· Bachelors’ degree in public health related field or teaching (preferred)

· Experience as a clinician is not required, a genuine passion for raising awareness and promoting a stigma-free culture is.
· Valid New Jersey (NJ) Driver’s License
· Possess strong presentation and communication skills(both written and verbal.)
· Excellent computer skills.
