Bi-weekly Salary: Office Technician II: $1,341.23 - $1,467.22Office Technician III: $1,467.22 - $1,606.14The Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a qualified candidate to fill one (1) vacancy for the position of Office Technician II/III with the Public Health branch. This position is classified as Full-Time. Essential job duties may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. The list that follows is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks This is a responsible clerical position that requires the ability and experience to perform a variety of duties related to general office work and implementation of departmental activities and functions under indirect to general supervision. Employees in this classification receive limited to direct supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This classification is non-exempt from the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Office Technician II is the first level in this class, working under direct supervision, assigned technical and complex tasks in addition to the routine duties. With additional experience, incumbents may be eligible for advancement in this series.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.Performs receptionist duties such as answering and routing incoming phone calls, assisting walk-ins, and scheduling appointments. Acts as an information source regarding general county and departmental policies, procedures and services. Coordinates schedules, activities, and appointments associated with training sessions, department head meetings, and other major functions. Screens incoming correspondence, responding to routine inquiries and distributing other correspondence to the appropriate person, department or agency. Maintains public and confidential records, files, and documentation pertaining to departmental activities. Assists walk-in and telephone inquirers regarding assessment activities and parcel maps. Accepts payments, writes receipts, and prepares deposit authorizations for various types of fees, costs, and reimbursements. Maintains various files related to financial records and budgets of operational unit(s). Prepares claims for payment, bills, receipts, and/or other financial records of expenditures or transactions for an operational unit. Prepares various types of forms, documents, and/or reports as required. Performs moderately technical and specialized clerical duties as requested. Performs related duties as required.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Job Requirements: Knowledge of: Modern office methods, practices and procedures. Data processing equipment and terminology. Correct English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and composition at a level used in moderately complex correspondence. Ability to: Operate with a high degree of productivity and accuracy from both written and oral instructions.Maintain complete and accurate departmental files and financial records. Learn, interpret, and apply policies and procedures as applicable to departmental related activities.Maintain confidentiality when processing information of sensitive nature. Type accurately at a rate sufficient to perform duties on a satisfactory basis. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow workers and/or other county department representatives.
