We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work within the DuPage County Department of Transportation as a Project Engineer.
As a project engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead and participate in a variety of transportation related projects in a team environment. The position reports directly to the Senior Project Engineer.
Remote work is available upon completion of a 6-month probationary period and supervisor approval.
Experience in Phase II (Design) engineering and knowledge of IDOT standard specifications and federal and State design standards is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversees the investigation, development, and design of a variety of Phase I and II transportation engineering projects, including roadways, bridges and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
- Reviews and manages studies, reports, plans and specifications for proposed transportation improvements that are performed by consultants on a wide variety of Phase I and II transportation projects.
- Coordinates with various municipalities, regulatory agencies, IDOT, Tollway, and utility companies.
- Conducts and leads various in-house transportation studies.
- Assists with the preparation of application materials for funding opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Occasional field work as necessary.
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related transportation field
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional civil and/or transportation engineering experience
- This position requires registration as an Illinois Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid Illinois Driver’s license
