EC Instructional Coach
Job Title: K-12 Exceptional Children’s Instructional Coach Department of Exceptional Children
Job Description Position Summary: The EC Instructional Coach, having both knowledge of content and expertise in methods of delivering specially designed instruction to students with disabilities, will support teachers with effective implementation of instruction using research-based programs and strategies. The coach will also assist the Instructional Specialist with other tasks related to curriculum and instruction with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for students with disabilities.
Reports to: EC Director
Salary: Certified Teacher Salary Schedule
Term of Employment: 10 months
Qualifications:
? Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
? Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience with students with disabilities
? Current NC teaching license in special education
? Teaching experience using Direct Instruction programs in literacy and math
? Completion of Reading Foundations and/or Math Foundations course General
Responsibilities:
? Assist the EC instructional Specialist with tasks and initiatives related to improving quality of instruction for students with disabilities
? Provide support to teachers related to implementation of curriculum and research-based instructional strategies
? Provide support and coaching to teachers related to implementation of direct instruction programs
? Willingness to complete steps to become a trainer of direct instruction programs
? Willingness to complete steps to become a Reading Foundations and/or Math Foundations trainer
? Provide support to teachers related to data collection, analysis, and data-driven decision making
? Maintain required documentation related to job tasks and communications
? Effectively manage time in order to meet deadlines
? Work collaboratively with teachers, staff members, and EC staff regarding curriculum and instruction
? Participate in required meetings and trainings
? Maintain professionalism and confidentiality
