Description
Position Overview:
Responsible for the general maintenance of the Hotel including, but not limited to, toilet seats, toilet bowls, water tanks, doors, hinges, stops, knobs, locks, fuses, circuit breakers, light bulbs, switches and outlet plates as required.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform repairs to all parts of hotel, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and paint work
- Install and replace lighting fixtures and ensure all electrical circuits are in good working order
- Deep clean carpets, rugs and tile flooring
- Visually inspect and test machinery to ensure all equipment is in good working order, detecting malfunction and alerting management of all findings
- Dismantle and replace machinery and electrical work as advised by management
- Repair and maintain physical structure of hotel
- Repair furniture as needed
- Paint or wall paper corridors, guest rooms and lobby areas as required
- Transport heavy items and furniture as needed throughout the hotel
- Communicate effectively with Front Office team to ensure all guest requests are handled in a timely and professional fashion
- Continuously utilize HotSOS system to manage open service requests
- Maintain safety and cleanliness of work area, using personal protective equipment as needed
- Responsible for snow removal and general cleanliness and upkeep of outdoor spaces
- The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.

Qualifications
- College degree or Technical school graduate preferred
- General knowledge of skilled trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, i.e. blueprints and mechanical drawings and mechanical maintenance instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with guests/co-workers
- Respond to guest and employee requests with high level of patience, diplomacy and tact. Excellent interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work under time pressure and extensive hours.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to stand and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift
- Maintains professionalism at all times, demonstrating courtesy and respect to guests, employees and co-workers
