Job Title: Bistro SupervisorLocation: Courtyard Huntsville University Drive
Position Summary:
The Bistro Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Bistro Attendants and ensuring the highest quality of service is delivered to guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner. This role supports the General Manager in leading the food and beverage team, maintaining operational standards, and meeting departmental goals.
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of the English language with previous guest/customer relations experience preferred.
- Certification in liquor, wine, and food service is a plus.
- TIPS, CARE, or equivalent certification required (or must obtain by the first day of work).
- Proficiency in using property management systems, computers, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas and information.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to evaluate and choose among alternative courses of action efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively under high-pressure situations while maintaining composure.
- Active listening and problem-solving skills to address guest and team member concerns.
- Understanding of financial data and basic arithmetic functions.
Leadership & Team Oversight:
- Approach all interactions with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, and service-oriented manner.
- Assist the General Manager with the training and development of the food and beverage team.
- Provide leadership and support to Bistro Attendants, ensuring consistent adherence to service standards.
Operations & Inventory Management:
- Assist in managing and maintaining food and beverage inventory par levels.
- Support the General Manager in completing departmental orders and meeting budgetary guidelines.
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties based on station rotation assignments.
Guest Service:
- Deliver food and beverage services to guests in a warm, courteous, and professional manner.
- Address and accommodate special guest requests or offer suitable alternatives.
- Greet and seat guests promptly and ensure table settings are stocked, clean, and tidy.
- Answer guest questions about menu items, specials, and promotions, demonstrating thorough menu knowledge.
Cashiering & Administrative Tasks:
- Handle cashiering functions, including closing checks and completing end-of-shift paperwork.
- Ensure proper operation of the Micros POS system.
- Maintain attendance, grooming, and uniform standards in compliance with Helix Hospitality policies.
General Responsibilities:
- Monitor and uphold cleanliness, quality, and safety standards in the Bistro.
- Attend meetings as required by management.
- Maintain familiarity with the overall organization of Helix Hospitality Hotels and the functions of each department.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by management.
