Summary:
This individual is responsible for receptionist duties,responding to telephone inquiries, using Syngo and Muse for data query. A primary aspect of this role includespositive relations with patients, guests, physicians, co-workers and other departments.
The Clerical Associate demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Responsibilities:
Uses excellent customer service skills to greet and service patients .
Moves outpatients through the registration/ordering process in a timely, professional manner Assists patients in the completion of hospital form .
P repares orders for the technical staff .
M aintains paperwork/documentation per established protocols .
E xplains examination preparations for tests done in the Center for the Heart .
A nswers the telephone, using established telephone etiquette skills .
T ransfers phone inquiries appropriately Faxes reports, using established protocols .
U ses Syngo and Muse for retrieval of information to respond to inquiries within the scope of their duties .
M aintains proficiency in all computer function s necessary to perform job duties (Syngo, Muse, email, etc.) .
R equests CD copies/electronic transfer for outside requests.
F ollows HIPAA/ROI guideline s when releasing images/ r eports .

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge of standard office equipment (fax, copy machine, printers) Word processing (type 40 wpm)
Ability to flex work schedule in order to meet staffing needs .
Ability to multi-task, rotate and function independently in patient reception, responding to telephone inquiries
Ability to work under stressful situations with a positive attitude
A bility to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent, with post high school vocational training in clerical or secretarial courses Medical terminology course preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards Frequent sitting; near, midrange and far vision and depth perception, color vision
Occasional standing and walking .
