JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Grants Manager Orlando


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in grant writing, fundraising, and special events
  • Areas of expertise must include: computer competency in Microsoft Office, use of databases, and other fundraising software
  • Excellent written, math, and verbal skills
  • Strong sense of detail, quality, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and possess a valid Florida’s Driver’s License


PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Grants Manager will be responsible for assisting in developing fundraising strategies for current and potential funders, writing grant proposals to public and private funders, including foundations and corporations, and persuasively communicating Covenant House Florida’s Mission and programs to funders and the community at large. The Grants Manager will prepare and submit grant proposals, establish, and maintain personal contact and relationships with funders as appropriate, conduct prospect research, prepare and submit reports, and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.

POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Data Systems and Grants Administration – FTL


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Develop system to research and analyze funding opportunities from Federal, State, Local and private philanthropic sources that would best fit with CHF’s goals.

2. Manage and track grant deadlines, develop internal reporting systems, and maintain excellent grant records.

3. Responsible for writing and submitting grant proposals, developing budgets, crafting and submitting fiscal and programmatic reports, and ensuring compliance with funding guidelines and deliverables for private organizations and federal/state/local agencies when assigned.

4. Benchmark and develop best practices to enhance the grant-writing program.

5. Coordinate with Director of Grants and Data Systems and Executive Leadership the preparation of agency written materials as needed, including all grant and major gift thank you letters, donor correspondence, press releases, event scripts, and other materials.

6. Coordinate and facilitate grant development/reporting/outcome related meetings and communicate relevant requirements, changes, and concern to program leadership staff.

7. Assist with implementation of strategies to recognize donors.

8. Meet and execute fundraising goals in grant funding.

9. Maintain an active presence in the community and develop strong relationships with private and corporate contacts.
