Major Responsibilities
- Local DCS/SIS/PLC systems administration
- Standardized DCS configuration
- Key contact for third party systems maintenance contractors (Puffer, HIMA)
- Identify, develop and implement systems optimization opportunities within the PCT layer for PCT systems (especially in the areas of alarm management and operations efficiency).
- Support strategic and capital projects involving PCT systems.
- Take a lead role in ensuring OT Security practices are followed per Covestro OT Security standards
- Work closely together with production, IT and PCT engineers to optimize system architecture and lifecycle management
- Support of production and PCT for local PCT systems. Systems include DCS Systems, HIMA, Local PLC, PI and all related interfaces, etc.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field with at least 10 years’ experience with production control systems OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree with at least 6 years’ experience with production control systems
- The eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in ICA (Instrumentation, Control, Automation) Engineering or related fields
- Thorough understanding of PCT concepts / practices and good understanding of maintenance and project management
- Good knowledge of Engineering tools and software - SAP, Meridium
- Proficient programming skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Able to work and act autonomous and assertive
- Demonstrate self-directed and non-authoritative leadership skills
- Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively within the organization, with site management, and externally
