Job Title: News Editor - KIRO TV
KIRO TV Seattle is looking for a News Editor to join the team! The ideal News Editor candidate will have a deep understanding of Avid Media Composer, experience editing video under tight deadlines, and efficient personal time management. This individual will have experience on Avid Media Composer or like software, excellent personal time management, strong communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Operate Avid Media Composer and Production Management (Interplay) with high efficiency
- Navigate Avid iNews to access rundowns and scripts
- Communicate with crews in the field, producers, and directors
- Edit while staffing an ENG receive center coordinating feeds, and field crews
- Collaborate with the editing team to share editing tasks, manage media, and archive
- Work weekends and holidays as needed
- Provide a reel of your personal work that demonstrates your video editing skills
- Ability to work at a screen for a minimum of eight hours in a loud environment
- Visual acuity between 1 - 8 feet and the ability to hear and properly edit audio are required
- Local news experience is preferred
- Related experience preferred
The wage scale for this position is $25.00 per hour to $36.00 per hour.

Full-time hourly employees are eligible to earn up to 176 hours of PTO inclusive of paid sick and safe time under applicable law.
