About the Information Governance Manager Position As the Information Governance Manager, you are responsible for enhancing Colonial’s Information Governance Program. This will include the creation, adoption, maintenance, and management of the organization’s policies and procedures to ensure compliance with information governance requirements. The Information Governance Manger oversees and coordinates the day-to-day activities of Colonial’s records management program in a manner sufficient to comply with business requirements and all applicable state and federal requirements. This position will interact with consultants and external counsel on designated projects. What You Get to Do: Develop, update, and implement policies and procedures related to the records management program. Develop, implement, and monitor auditing plans and processes for compliance with the records management policy, document retention schedules, associated policies and procedures, and legal accountability requirements. Identify and recommend information management best practices most applicable to the organization’s needs. Act as liaison to Technology team in support of development and maintenance initiatives associated with information governance. Participate in cross-functional initiatives relating to document management needs. Facilitate training for company employees on record retention schedules and requirements. Provide oversight of the off-site storage program for the Company’s documents. Coordinate with litigation counsel on e-discovery and legal hold issues as necessary. Manage supplier relationships relating to records management vendors. What You Bring to the Table: Bachelor’s degree in from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education. Ideally, 5 years of Information Management/Governance, including areas related to personal Information, company information, systems, and infrastructure. Demonstrated experience designing, managing, and executing large-scale, enterprise-wide projects. Ability to maintain current understanding of federal, state, and local document retention and disposal guidelines and inform stakeholders about requirements and any changes to requirements. Ability to maintain and update records retention schedules. Knowledgeable of principles of information governance and record retention. Ability to recognize gaps in established processes and promote creative and effective solutions.
