Position Overview
Craftsbury Saplings Community Children's Center in Craftsbury, VT seeks a highly organized, efficient, and creative chef to plan and prepare daily meals for up to 28 people, including staff and students aged 15 months to 5 years. You will work with classroom teachers to provide menus that engage children in food preparation and meet the dietary needs of students and staff. A great candidate will be excited about bringing local food and gardening projects into the classroom while preparing delicious meals.

Duties
- Plan and prepare healthy and delicious meals daily (2 snacks and lunch) that align with the Federal Child and Adult Food Program
- Support food and garden-related classroom curriculum through child-friendly recipes and food projects
- Manage budgeting and purchasing for all food and kitchen-related equipment and supplies
- Maintain kitchen space and records up to standards aligned with the Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Perform daily and monthly kitchen and meal-related cleaning tasks
- Maintain documentation in compliance with the Child and Adult Food Program
Requirements
- Culinary and/or food service experience
- Participate in mandatory program and kitchen-related training and stay up to date on annual training needs
- Ability to maintain accurate records and pay close attention to details
- Working knowledge of Speadsheets and Email
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Federal Background Check
