Status: Fulltime

FSLA Class: Non-exempt

Location: Soldotna

Reports to: Service Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Service Writer perform various service/parts related functions. This position works primarily with the service department but also assists in parts sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Daily interaction with customers

· Open work orders and document description of symptoms in sufficient detail to provide technician with information necessary to efficiently perform service work

· Verify warranty contract coverage and explaining provisions and exclusions as necessary

· Updating the customer on the status of their work order

· Work directly with Service Manager to schedule and assign work orders as necessary

· Facilitate parts ordering & delivery to keep technicians on the wrench

· Researching and recommending correct parts/equipment for a given job

· Assisting customer with purchase of small equipment

· Perform other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma or GED

· Customer-centric point of view and “yes we can” attitude

· Strong ability to multitask

· Attention to detail

· Ability to learn processes and procedures

· Ability to take direction well and follow through with little or no supervision

· Must be able to work well with others and be part of a team

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Must be able to work 40 hrs per week

· Must be able to work a rotating Saturday schedule in the summer

· Excellent attention to detail

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees must be able to lift at least 30-45 pounds on a regular basis and be able to stand for long periods of time.
