Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Richmond, VA for a Detention Specialist I. The Detention Specialist I will be responsible for supervising and monitoring the activities of detained youth, ensuring their safety and well-being, and maintaining order within the facility. The role includes conducting security checks, providing guidance and support to the youth, documenting incidents and activities, and collaborating with other staff members to develop and implement rehabilitation plans.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with youth and colleagues
- Experience in handling security procedures and maintaining order in a facility
- Ability to conduct thorough documentation and reporting
- Knowledge and experience in rehabilitation and youth care practices
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, challenging environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in juvenile justice, corrections, or related field is a plus
- Experience in a similar role or environment preferred
