Position: EC Instructional Support/Clerical/Bus Monitor
Reports to: Director of Exception Children Program
Terms of Employment: (Temporary ESSER funded - Annual posiiton, not to exceed beyond 2023)
Pay Grade: 56
Pay Range: $2,060.51 - $3,339.51
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Nature of Work
An Employee with this job description provides support to a specific assigned school during the instructional day. A wide variety of tasks are performed to support the student and teacher in the teaching-learning process for the assigned students. Problems are solved through the exercise of judgment in selecting the best course of action to be taken.
Education and Experience
48 semester credit hours or higher
Certification and Licensure Requirements (if applicable):
Essential Functions/Typical Tasks
- Works in the collaboration with the student’s teachers to provide an effective classroom learning environment for the student
- Assists in the instructional preparation/support with other students as needed
- Assists in scheduling meetings and maintain an organizational system for collecting required confidential
- Provides individualized instruction/directions to the students
- Demonstrates various instructional activities to assist the student’s comprehension and ability to access the curriculum
- Keeps students on task
- Praises and reinforces achievement of the students
- Assists in the data collection and reports student progress to teacher
- Assists with management of student behavior
- Monitor buses for students in need of Specialized Transportation as needed
- Complies data from several established sources
- Records readily available information obtained from a limited number of
- Operates computer for routine and repetitive records
- Operates a limited variety of simple standard office equipment. Keyboards materials from exact copy with
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience and knowledge of students needs at different ages, educational and developmental levels
- Working knowledge of educational practices, processes, and techniques
- Willingness to become familiar with Craven County School Districts educational policies and rules as well as federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and rules
- Skill in communicating verbally, and written, through translation and interpretation
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with others
- Maintain confidential student information

Special Requirements
