What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Intern position at Crawford County Memorial Hospital?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides/assists with personal hygiene of the patients.
Obtain patient’s vital signs and weight as requested.
Perform bedside glucose checks on patients.
Physical comfort and positioning of the patients.
Assist to maintain, support, and implement department and Hospitals mission and goals.
Passing and feeding of meal tray to the patients.
Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide non-direct patient care/support services to staff under the direction of licensed personnel.
Maintains current knowledge of equipment and supplies.
Responds to patient requests promptly.
Follows general nursing policies and procedures regarding patient care.
Communicates openly, directly and timely to immediate supervisor regarding department concerns and decisions.
Consults with and keeps staff nurses informed of unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care.
Answers patient call lights timely and reports problems and requests to the nurse.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned.

Report to work on time and as scheduled.
Wear identification while on duty.
Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Comply with all organizational policies.
Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values.
Job Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school graduate.
CNA or equivalent experience preferred.
Medical terminology class (preferred but not required).
