What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truancy Caseworker position at Cray Youth and Family Services?
This is a full time position for a Truancy Prevention Program Caseworker. A Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Service field is required.
Job Duties:
1. Provides services to a caseload of 6-12 cases, depending on the intensity of the level of service required.
2. Travels to the homes of clients to perform job duties and coordinates with all other systems involving the family.
3. Transports clients to services and activities depending on the need and supervisor approval.
4. Performs on-call requirements as needed and assigned.
5. Performs assessments of families and develops service plans and interventions based on assessments.
6. Provides support to families in meeting goals.
7. Documents and records all pertinent information, which includes contacts, progress, correspondence, incidents, etc. and maintains all files for caseloads.
8. Supports other Truancy Caseworkers and provides and accepts feedback in group supervision.
9. Maintains weekly contact with referral Agency and school districts.
10. Communicates and networks with outside officials, courts, schools, and community services as necessary.
11. Attends court hearings as assigned.
12. Attends trainings, staff meetings, and seminars as required and assigned.
13. Attends formal supervision weekly.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service field.
· Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle in good working condition and automobile liability insurance that meets minimum agency requirements.
· Must have current Act 33 and Act 34 and FBI clearances.
· Must have current or obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
· Must be able to work non-traditional hours and some weekends.
· Must have the ability to move across uneven terrain, remain sitting for long periods of time, ascend and descend stairs (with or without a reliable handrail), and navigate within cluttered, disorganized or unclean home conditions.
· Must be computer proficient in word processing and have basic typing skills.
· Must be able to read and interpret forms and documents.
· Must be abe to speak and write effectively.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, night vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
