Crazy Good Eats, a fast-growing competition-style BBQ company in Olathe, Kansas, is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Pit Master to join our team. As a Pit Master, you will play a crucial role in producing excellence in smoked meats and other foods, ensuring that CGE remains at the top of the incredibly competitive Kansas City BBQ Marketplace.
Job Responsibilities:
- Trim and season meats to perfection
- Manage smoking of meats with precision
- Responsible for all aspects of the smoker and meats, including inventory management, wood inventory, supplies, seasonings, and cleaning
- Package smoked products and meats after cooking
- Assist in kitchen fundamentals, such as prep work, cooking, and following recipes
- Coordinate inventories and product availability
- Have awareness of all recipes for restaurant products, as well as brines, seasoning, and prep times for smoked products
Qualifications:
- Must have experience with smokers and an understanding of different cuts of proteins used for BBQ
- Willingness to learn and desire to acquire unique techniques
- Creativity to apply skills to create value for the CGE menu
- Strong commitment to excellence and willingness to work long hours
Advancement Opportunities:
This position serves as an apprentice and is on track to become the Pit Master at CGE with exemplary work ethic and a high standard of performance in all areas of responsibility. Depending on demonstrated broad knowledge of kitchen responsibilities and managerial skills, this person could advance to a Kitchen Manager level.
