A family is looking for an experienced and licensed caregiver to support their adult son with autism after school in the Santa Cruz region.
This client is part of California Self Determination Program. They love to cook and have a big sense of curiosity. They thrive best when they know what the daily plan entails. This client enjoys their independence, having choices and a predictable routine. They can at times be impulsive with their decisions which is the reason for needing consistent support.
It is absolutely vital that this person on their support team has experience using antecedent strategies to avoid stressors and maladaptive behaviors. Example: seeing a potential problem before it becomes a problem is necessary - must be proactive!
Primary Responsibilities:
-Transporting around the community
-Keeping them safe in the community
-Helping them be successful in the community and have meaningful experiences
Skills/Requirements:

- Patient, motivated, flexible, adaptable

Schedule:
Role #1: Community-based; Monday - Friday 2:15pm-5pm pst
*Possibility for increased hours beginning June 2024 if interested.
Role #2:
This position includes practicing adult living skills to include laundry, household/personal bedroom chores, reminders of personal care and assistance with shaving, light cooking and clean up after meals, summertime community outings during daylight savings time.
Location: Home & Community-based; Monday - Friday 5pm-8pm pst
