What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sous Chef position at Creative Dining Services?
Creative Dining Services is looking for a Sous Chef in South Colorado Springs. Experience with a wide variety of cuisine is a huge plus - our clients visit Colorado Springs from all over the world and enjoy internationally inspired recipes as well as vegetarian and vegan options! The Sous Chef is responsible for planning and directing food preparation. This includes supervision of staff and other administrative duties.
The Center for Creative Leadership is located on 66 scenic acres in Colorado Springs, providing corporate training, leadership development and research for companies worldwide. Our dining room offers gourmet meals for staff and visitors to fuel their reflection and recreation experiences at the center.
A typical schedule will be Monday-Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm, with occasional evening events. No weekends!
Core Responsibilities
- Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service.
- Supervise and train staff.
- Read and understand Function Sheets for menus and time of functions.
- Produce and maintain prep sheets.
- Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production. If work shift requires, properly open and/or close the kitchen.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Culinary Arts Degree preferred
- 1 – 3 years cooking experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
- ServSafe Certification
- First Aid training
