The branch manager is responsible for effectively directing sales, service, and community outreach efforts. Guides branch office staff in providing quality service to members in the areas of account transactions, loan applications, new accounts and problem solving within established policies and guidelines.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for upholding Credit Union of Georgia brand standards including following all of the steps of our unique member experience and to Engage, Ask, Solve and Excite and deliver top level member service.
  • Responsible for daily branch operations and business development activities in a manner that provides exceptional service to members and potential members.
  • Directs and participate in public and community relations activities to promote the Credit Union. Serve as a liaison with external community involvement and internal member relations.
  • Coordinates training and serve as an information source for the branch.
  • Promotes credit union awareness in the community and identifies opportunities for membership growth.
  • Provides decision and justification to grant or deny loans.
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal fair lending rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for achieving financial goals as determined by the Credit Union’s strategic plan through the management of branch staff. Serves as a leader; communicates philosophy; conducts weekly meetings; ensure the branch is obtaining members’ needs are being met through efficient and effective service.
  • Set the example of professional behavior and hold employees accountable for their performance, attitude and behavior. Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long-term objectives.
  • Participate in and assist in conjunction with Business Development and Community outreach programs to establish and maintain relationships that will enhance the growth and recognition of the Credit Union.
  • Assures that the branch is operating efficiently, is staffed appropriately, and that all aspects of branch operations are functioning; including hardware, equipment, ATM, Teller Cash Recyclers, check scanners, cameras, alarms, vault and vault limits, coin machines, etc. Also responsible for branch maintenance and appearance.
  • Assists members with consumer loans and to make recommendations to underwriters for loans under consideration, and assists subordinate personnel with loans and recommendations as required. Reviews applications and add notes, gathers documents, researches and verifies information and ensures proper communication to the members.
  • Monitors and ensures familiarity and compliance with, all Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Maintains any personal certifications or registries as applicable and as required by law, and completes any required training or submitting any required information in order to ensure that they are kept current. This includes staying compliant with the S.A.F.E. Act, BSA, and all other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for the security of the branch staff, volunteers, visitors and members including physical security of the credit union, money, facilities, collateral, equipment and with the security of member, employee information entrusted to us.
  • Provide communication up-line with executive management, with direct reports and members as well.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of banking or credit union leadership and lending experience.
  • Business development experience preferred.
  • 7 years practical work experience.
  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Some college preferred.
