Job Summary
The Member Services Officer is responsible for the delivery of initiatives as they relate to building primary relationships with members, providing outstanding service and achieving branch goals. Promote and build positive relationships with customers of the grocery store and members to provide solutions to their financial needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as primary source of information om membership requirements, services, rights, and potential for membership in the credit union. Must be a champion of service and sales.
- Build member loyalty by processing transactions, accurately and efficiently.
- Promote and build positive relationships with members and provide solutions to their financial needs.
- Possess working knowledge of credit union products to grow business by matching value-added products and services to members and potential members.
- Opens new member accounts; verifies availability of funds. Handles inquiries of member balances, order share drafts, place stop payments on drafts, update member account and assist with the transactions for processing.
- Handles adjustments and transfers on member accounts when practical and ACH affidavits.
- Greet and assists debit card members; provides a Notary service to members.
- Responsible for carrying out a variety of duties related to loan applications and documentation. Has the capability of performing all duties related to loans with the exception to underwriting.
- Adhere to established procedures related to branch security and safety: opening and closing procedures, robbery procedures, etc.
- Conduct business development activities to attract new business.
- Assist with regular promotional campaigns to attract new members.
- Assist with establishing and maintaining a strong working relationship with retail management and team.
Secondary Duties and Responsibility (may include):
- Participate in community events
- Utilize FSI’s Members Only Website, The Smart Cart for ideas and tips.
- Utilize FSI’s Bi-Monthly Newsletter, The In-Store Advantage; Monthly Advantage Podcast; Quarterly SuperMarketing Calendar
- Assist with social media presence.

Education and Experience
- High school graduate.
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
