Job Summary:
Our Finance professionals are critical to the university’s success. Under the guidance of the Director, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex financial analysis projects and developing partnerships across the University.
The ideal candidate would be an Accounting or Finance graduate with a couple of years of work experience. A stellar new graduate would also be considered. One may come to us with business world experience but new to the accounting or finance function and are interested in gaining experience in a mission-driven higher education organization.
Essential Job Functions:
- Complete analysis on financial data including performance to budget, evaluation of categories of expenditures, comparisons across university schools and divisions and external benchmarks.
- Assist in maintaining financial reporting and budgeting tools.
- Collaborate on ad-hoc analytical projects to gain insights and optimize resources.
- Active participation in annual operating budget, quarterly forecast, capital requests, gift utilization and operating requests.
- Participate in development opportunities, meetings, and process improvement projects as a member of the Finance organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related area.
- 0-4 years of finance, accounting, analysis, or related experience
- Collaborative teamwork mindset.
- Efficiently manage time and workload on a variety of tasks, reporting and projects.
- Knowledge of business principles and accounting operations.
- Ability to work with diverse customer personalities, backgrounds and possibly conflicting goals or agendas.
- Effective written and verbal communication skill and attention to detail; able to communicate financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Understands and embodies the Creighton vision and mission. Follows and understands the core values, employee standards of behavior and company policies and procedures.
