Manufacturing Engineer
with 7 years' applicable experience is needed in the southwest Atlanta metro area. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this role focuses on improving production efficiency, supporting tooling and automation initiatives, and contributing to new product and process development.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities
- Design and optimize production processes, tooling, and layouts using SolidWorks (2D & 3D).
- Lead productivity and efficiency improvements on existing manufacturing lines.
- Conduct root cause analysis and apply Lean tools to resolve production issues.
- Support the launch of new products and product design changes through process development.
- Perform FMEAs and design reviews focused on manufacturability and reliability.
- Implement automation and robotics, including PLCs, controls integration, and end-of-arm tooling.
- Develop documentation such as work instructions, SOWs, and critical parts inventories.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams using DOE, ROI analysis, and other engineering tools.
Manufacturing Engineer Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7 years of experience within a manufacturing environment with a focus on tooling design.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
- Hands-on experience with tooling, automation, robotics, and PLCs.
- Project management experience from planning through execution.
- Prior experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy industrial or related environment.
