What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at CRF Behavioral Healthcare?
Hour: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour
Education: High School diploma/GED with 2 years of experience working in social services or related setting required.
As a Billing Specialist, you will:
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate billing using electronic and paper processing within contracted timelines for multiple health plans.
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
- Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract. Research and appeal denied claims.
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary.
- Ensure that information about members served, enrollment, disenrollment, eligibility information, outcome data, billing, and other pertinent information is entered accurately into EHR(s) and other documentation platforms within specified time limits.
- Verify monthly service provision requirements are met for payment throughout the month.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
- College-level bookkeeping skills required
- 1 years of accounting receivable experience
- High level of demonstrated organizational and communication skills
- Experience with medical billing is strongly preferred
- Experience using Electronic Health Record systems required
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
- Reliable transportation is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position. A valid California driver's license in good standing and proof of insurance are required for employees driving personal vehicles on company business
- Able to pass criminal/background clearance
