What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Auditor 1/ Internal Auditor Trainee position at Criminal Justice Services, Division of?
Internal Auditor 1: Permanent service as an Internal Auditor 1, SG-18, or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-16 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law.
Internal Auditor Trainee: Permanent service as an Internal Auditor Trainee or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title eligible for transfer. Candidates eligible for 55-b/c appointment are also eligible to apply.
Preferred Qualifications: In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, the candidate must possess strong organizational and planning abilities, interpersonal skills, and good writing and analytic talents. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
The Internal Auditor 1/Internal Auditor Trainee will be assigned to the Office of Audit Services and Compliance (OASC) and will be responsible for conducting internal audits, performing site visits, and reviewing self-assessments for agencies with access to CHRI, DMV Photo, LAWMAN, NDEx, and fingerprint-based background check results.
The Internal Auditor 1 will also be responsible for conducting internal audits of DCJS program areas and functions. The incumbant’s additional job responsibilities will include assisting in establishing the scope of audit by analyzing and determining areas for audit and the time frame to be examined, developing testing procedures to assess whether established policies and procedures are efficient and effective, and reports summarizing the results of internal audits.
