Material Handler

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Under limited supervision, Material Handlers are responsible for performing all daily functions within the Materials department, to include but not limited to, processing of incoming materials, preparing assembly kits, shipping of finished goods, daily cycle counts and other related Materials duties. This position greatly impacts the ability for the Minden facility production lines to meet on-time delivery goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible to know and follow all Cristek procedures and policies to ensure compliance with our Quality Management System and AS9100 Certification.
• Responsible for maintaining accuracy of the stockroom and inventory by ensuring all material is placed into its respective location each time it is used.
• Performs shipping of items to include finished goods, intercompany transfers and other miscellaneous shipments, and prepares shipping reports as needed.
• Performs kitting and issuing of materials to the production floor, to include cable and marker preparation. This includes accurately recording Lot Numbers on Work Orders and completing SAP transactions to issue the material at time of kitting to ensure inventory is accurately reflected at all times.
• Processing of Inventory Issue Authorization forms and other SAP inventory transactions.
• Performs receiving of incoming materials daily to meet metric goals and updates the Daily Receiving Log.
• Responsible for recognizing limited shelf life materials, as well as pulling the items monthly from the expired materials report, and placing them in MRB as needed. Works in conjunction with QC to recertify expired shrink tubing.
• Communicate material needs for kitting and shipping with Operations Manager and/or Purchasing as needed to ensure materials are maintained at an acceptable level.
• Responsible for the organization, cleanliness and accuracy of the stockroom and inventory, including performing daily cycle counts.
• Responsible for daily backlog updates related to status of kits, missing materials, and shipping.

QUALIFICATIONS

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking/understanding English
• Must be able to pass Visual Acuity requirements (color, depth perception and field of vision)
• Ability to work with limited supervision while performing daily Materials functions.
• Must exhibit efficient lean work flow, time-management, superior integrity and strong work ethic in order to contribute to a successful team.
• Must possess above average attention to detail and the ability to make sound decisions.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

• Requires computer literacy to effectively complete duties.
• MRP experience a plus.
• Ability to read, accurately interpret and follow instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods while completing work in a warehouse environment. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly and 50-80 lbs. occasionally.
• The job is normally performed indoors, in a traditional manufacturing and office setting. Extended periods of sitting while using a computer or other devices are common.
