What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Coordinator position at CRMC Branding?
This full-time research coordinator position will an NIH-funded multi-site trial that examines how communication quality, healthcare distrust, social determinants of health, personality traits, and other factors play a role in how communication unfolds in the intensive care unit (ICU) and their impact on patient- and family-centered care outcomes. The trial is occurring at 5 ICUs across 3 states (PA, KY, GA).
The coordinator will work closely with and report to the Site PI (Dr. Michael Brown) to help implement the trial’s procedures at the Colquitt Regional Medical Center (CRMC). The coordinator will also work closely with and attend frequent videoconference meetings with the full research team at the main trial site (Penn State College of Medicine).
Tasks include:
- Assist with maintenance of appropriate documentation for the research trial, including IRB, research data, and files
- Attend all local and full team meetings related to the research project (through videoconferencing with the senior trial staff and team located at Hershey, PA)
- Develop and maintain procedures manuals and protocols to be utilized at CRMC
- Collaborate with clinical teams in the ICU to facilitate study recruitment, enrollment and data collection
- Lead recruitment of family members or clinicians for participation in the research trial at CRMC
- Collect data in the form of questionnaires, audio-recordings of family meetings, and qualitative interviews from human subjects participants at CRMC
- Help to manage study databases, documents, and workflows in collaboration with statistical and data management teams
- Create and maintain tracking systems to ensure project progress at CRMC (including data collection, analysis, and reporting) and to help achieve project milestones
- Collaborate with data management teams to manage data queries and update databases as necessary
- Troubleshoot problems with participant recruitment and implementation across multiple sites by collaboration with research staff at CRMC
- Ensure timely reporting of trial progress to the Site PI for above tasks
- Assist the Site PI with budget management, purchasing, and budget reporting
- Other duties as assigned
