Job Purpose

Perform necessary service, repairs and welding on company equipment and job work orders.

Position Highlights:

1. Perform routine service on Crom field equipment
2. Perform modifications and repairs to field and shop equipment
3. Maintain available stock inventory levels
4. Coordinate with Blasting to ensure flow of equipment to be serviced
5. Provide support to the machinist for repairs and maintenance on rolling stock and prestressing equipment
6. Assist in pulling and inspecting parts for loading lists
7. Observe and maintain all safety procedures.
8. Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
9. Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
10. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
11. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
12. Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
13. Maintain and repair equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
14. Perform other duties as assigned including mechanics and machining and be subject to temporary assignment with other supervisors or for field work.
15.  Report to work as scheduled by the employer and without excessive absenteeism.
16. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

 HS Diploma or equivalent

 Mechanical experience

 1-2 years welding experience

Working Conditions

• Primarily works under a shed outside exposed to the elements
• Exposed to hazardous materials
• Exposed to frequent loud noises
• Exposed to dangerous machinery
• Generally works five 8-hour days, although overtime may occur
