Perform necessary service, repairs and welding on company equipment and job work orders.

Position Highlights:
- Perform routine service on Crom field equipment
- Perform modifications and repairs to field and shop equipment
- Maintain available stock inventory levels
- Coordinate with Blasting to ensure flow of equipment to be serviced
- Provide support to the machinist for repairs and maintenance on rolling stock and prestressing equipment
- Assist in pulling and inspecting parts for loading lists
- Observe and maintain all safety procedures.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
- Maintain and repair equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned including mechanics and machining and be subject to temporary assignment with other supervisors or for field work.
- Report to work as scheduled by the employer and without excessive absenteeism.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
HS Diploma or equivalent
Mechanical experience
1-2 years welding experience
Working Conditions
- Primarily works under a shed outside exposed to the elements
- Exposed to hazardous materials
- Exposed to frequent loud noises
- Exposed to dangerous machinery
- Generally works five 8-hour days, although overtime may occur
