Tree & Shrub Manager Position
Cross Creek Nursery is seeking a positive, high-energy and organized individual to lead a thriving tree and shrub department. The tree and shrub manager must be comfortable directing a team, managing tasks and prioritizing personal responsibilities. Candidates must be able to work in a fast pace, seasonally driven work environment and open to working weekends. It is imperative that individuals possess the highest level customer service and base all decisions around the customer experience. Horticulture experience and plant knowledge is preferred, but not required.
Some of the primary responsibilities include:
- Assisting customers with any and all plant questions or needs
- Care and maintenance of over 5 acres of trees and shrubs
- Merchandising all material within the department to enhance the customer experience
- Training new staff and continuing education of tenured team members
- Managing, tasking and leading the tree/shrub team
- Developing systems to ensure efficiency and efficacy
- Creating daily and long term goals for both the department and its team members
- Utilizing a spray program to maintain the highest quality for all plants
