What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist position at Crossroads Animal Hospital?
Our fast-paced animal clinic is looking to add a veterinary assistant/receptionist to our staff! PREVIOUS VETERINARY EXPERIENCE IS A REQUIREMENT.
This is a full-time position.
Our receptionist are responsible for:
- Providing customer service such as greet customers, answer questions, process incoming patients, and handle payments.
- Answer phone calls, which may involve answering medical questions
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email.
- Updating patient accounts.
- Retrieve prescriptions.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the waiting room.
Our assistants are responsible for:
- Providing customer service such as greet customers, answer questions, and handle payments.
- Going over medical history
- Typing exam notes
- Assisting DVMs
- Restraining animals
- Drawing up vaccines/administering vaccines
- Blood draws
The skills that a good candidate should possess to succeed at this position are:

- Customer service skills: Having the ability to provide friendly, efficient service to in-person clients, as well as on the phone.

- Organizational skills: Having the ability to manage office operations and basic receptionist responsibilities.
