What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Patient Access position at Crouse Hospital?
The Director Patient Access is responsible for the overall operation of Patient Access activities and functions. Collaborates with other revenue cycle directors and defines and achieves departmental goals and objectives. Supervises the Patient Access functions including admitting, compliance with third party payer regulations, financial counseling, charity care and denials.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field. Healthcare Access Management Certification (CHAM), Healthcare Financial Management Association Certification (CHFP) or Healthcare Financial Management Association-Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or other related certification preferred. Preferred: Master’s degree. 8-10 years health care Patient Access, Finance, Revenue Cycle or Healthcare Business experience with 5 years in a leadership position in a hospital/ acute care setting. Must have understanding of healthcare revenue cycle, payor contracts and applicable rules and regulations affecting reimbursement for healthcare services. In depth knowledge of general business concepts including financial management and accounting principles and practices. Preferred: Strong analytical and organizational skills as well as the ability to be flexible with changing needs and deadlines. Special skills/equipment:Computerized AR/ ADT/ Patient Accounting system experience. Microsoft Office products knowledge
