As the HR Generalist at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, you'll play a vital role in supporting our people by keeping our HR systems organized, compliant, and champion our mission and culture.

You'll manage the day-to-day operations of HR, including employee records, payroll coordination, recruiting, onboarding, seasonal intern programs, and HR programs — all while contributing to a workplace that’s rooted in purpose, learning, and cultural respect.
You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team on a campus surrounded by nature, history, and community. Whether you’re welcoming new staff, keeping our systems up to date, or ensuring a smooth payroll run, your work helps power a mission that matters.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
HR Administration:
· Maintain accurate employee records (electronic and paper)
· Process new hire and exit paperwork, background checks, and I-9 verifications
· Support onboarding/offboarding logistics and personnel changes
· Support employee programs and the employee life cycle
· Enter employee data and changes in Paycor system
· Track certifications, service awards, and personnel-related compliance requirements
Compliance & Policy Execution:
· Support compliance with federal and Colorado state labor laws
· Maintain internal documentation for certifications and safety training (CPR/First Aid, Health Statements)
· Help coordinate annual reporting (e.g., OSHA, unemployment)
Employee Relations & Communication:
· Respond to routine HR inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
· Train new hires on Paycor and timekeeping procedures
· Coordinate internal communications, recognition efforts, and team events
Education and/or Experience:
, payroll, or relevant administrative roles. Experience in nonprofit settings, recruitment, and intern coordination preferred. Professional certifications or coursework in HR are desirable.
