SLI Casting Operator - 2nd shift

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

• Routinely completes equipment set-up and changeover.
• Operates equipment to produce alloyed grids
• Ensures produced parts meet specifications and quality characteristics.
• Interacts and works closely with production shift supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment when required
• Produces alloyed grids which are the conductive structure within a battery
• Performs mold, ladle, and trim die change-overs
• Prepares molds for production – automobile paint style spray coating
• Performs SPC checks on parts for weight and thickness
• Inspects produced parts for adherence to quality characteristics
• Palletizes produced parts
• Performs light equipment maintenance or part replacement
• Troubleshoots mechanical equipment for proper operation and timing
• Is aware of activities in working surroundings and is responsible for keeping the area clean, tidy, and safe

Education and Experience Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Experience with safety and environmental training
• 1 year of Manufacturing experience

Basic Math Skills

Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management

Familiar with inspection equipment

Mechanically inclined / able to use

Work Environment

This job operates in an industrial plant floor environment. This role routinely uses industrial equipment and tools and works near moving mechanical parts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8 hours at a time

Use of both hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.

The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, at minimum of 8-hour shifts. Must be able to work all mandatory overtime as required; this could lead to working weekday and weekend overtime.

Monday-Friday, (Saturday and/or Sunday as needed)

6:00 am - 2:30 pm 1st Shift

2:00 pm - 10:30 pm 2nd Shift

10:00 pm - 6:30 am 3rd Shift
