About the Lancaster Plant:
CMB is expanding and building onto our operations at the Lancaster, OH plant. We are looking for skilled and motivated people to help us as we ramp up our existing operations and add more capabilities to service our customers.
Job purpose
To assemble and test machinery and equipment with the use of engineering drawings, machine build books and SOP’s, producing quality work to the required standard in a safe manner following CMB procedures.
Duties
- To work with in the company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures
- Assembly and testing of can making equipment to meet customer requirements.
- Delegation and support of non-complex tasks to semi-skilled team mates
- Ensure all documentation is up to date and legible
- Ensure workplace standards are adhered to
- Carry out Operator Asset Care tasks
- Ensure the area is kept to 6’s standards and audit work areas as and when required.
- Report any hazards that may cause harm to yourself or a colleague
- Carry out any cleaning pit-stops at the proposed time efficiently and effectively
- Escalate any parts, drawing, routings and machine Faults
- Participate in investigations to determine non-conformance (5Y/8D)
- Document any data relevant to associated tasks
- Ensure that Stock control procedures are adhered to at all times
- Participate in any continuous improvement initiatives and provide constructive feedback to the improvement team
- Communicate with operators from other shifts and carry out effective end of shift handovers
- Be flexible and move to other areas you are trained as and when the business needs dictate
- Provide on-the-job training to apprentices and new employees
- To have a can do attitude and embrace change with in the business.

Experience:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the assembly and testing of OEM (original equipment manufacturer) machinery
- Combined education and on-the-job training within an engineering background.
Skills:
- Apprentice-trained millwright experience preferred
- Mechanical and Technical Flexibility
- Ability to work unsupervised
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
Working Conditions
Generally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting
While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
The noise level is frequently loud
